Carrizo Gorge Railroad (CZRY) began operations in July of 2001, operating the Tijuana - Tecate Shortline in Baja California, Mexico. CZRY has provided Tijuana customers with dependable rail service entering Mexico through the San Ysidro Port for more than 4 years and as of December of 2004 has expanded its service to include entry at the Tecate Port. With the opening of the Desert Line which connects with UP at Plaster City, Ca (West of El Centro) and enters Mexico at Tecate (Southwest of Campo, Ca) CZRY is able to offer a new strategic route which will benefit customers not only in Tijuana, but San Diego, Imperial Valley and in the interior of Mexico as well. CZRY customers now have the option of routing their cars through the Port of Entry which best meets their logistic requirements.
